Afterhours Driver Support Specialist

We are currently seeking a dedicated Afterhours Driver Support Specialist to join our team, with weekend shifts required. The primary role of this position is to ensure that our drivers experience a smooth journey, particularly during late hours when support is crucial.
The key responsibilities include being the initial point of contact for drivers facing issues during the night shift, listening to their concerns, empathizing, and resolving them efficiently. The specialist will also collaborate within the company's communication channels (Slack) to tag the appropriate dispatchers and drivers for prompt assistance. Additionally, this role involves guiding drivers through any load, receiver, or shipper issues they encounter after hours, ensuring their operations remain on track. The specialist will use our system, TMS, to identify load numbers, then contact brokers to get necessary directions, helping drivers reach their destinations smoothly.
You will be working 8-hour shifts with at least one more team member assigned to each shift. Although two rest days are offered every week, they might not necessarily be on Saturday and Sunday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle After Hours Hours Driver Problems: Act as the primary contact for drivers with issues during night shifts, providing empathetic and efficient solutions.
- Tag Dispatchers and Drivers: Work within the company communication channels to ensure timely and accurate information flow between dispatchers and drivers.
- Assist with Load, Receiver, and Shipper Issues: Guide drivers through problems related to loads, receivers, or shippers, maintaining schedule adherence.
- Navigate TMS: Use the company’s system to find load numbers, contact brokers for directions, and assist drivers in reaching their destinations efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven sales experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or a related field.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and take initiative to achieve goals.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using computer software tools and understanding basic logistics software solutions.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think on your feet and address potential partner concerns effectively.
